I have a particular eye for wasabi-heated foods and anything hit with a fusion.
Introducing, the very first Japanese fusion sandwich spot to hit Toronto, Teara Lab. Spotted on College St. right across University of Toronto. the same chef of KAKA All You Can Eat Frank Liu mixes it up in the Japanese flavours with a fusion. The menu consists of sandwiches at a niche ranging from $8.49 to $13.99 and focused along five burger items. All the flavours with no lack of toppings.
A casual and quick eating space, the marbled space is bright and had me sure to stay. Beverage options include milk tea and fresh-squeezed juices of “LemonDaDa”, “LemonMaMa” and Watermelon Juice. Definitely an optimal spot for a quick stop in for students right across the street.
Of course, I had to also do a pick of darling nostalgic Ramune in Grape flavour.
The Teppanyaki Teriyaki Chicken Burger was the one I called my own, and I felt that the entire flavours worked well. Although there was no seaweed powder to be tasted in each bite (which I questioned the existence of), the chicken was cooked to juicy perfection with a great deal of spillage to swoop up later on. The cheese left a creamy after taste with the slices of tomato cutting through.
Next to follow are my un-trialed pictures of the testing phase items. You can see the diversity currently present through the ingredients used in the menu and what lies right ahead!
