It’s the time for the warmer weather, and The Keg knows just how to celebrate the new season! It’s two times a year that The Keg switches up their cocktail menu, creating options suitable to the festivities of the current time of the year.
12 new spring inspired cocktails and martinis grace the menu with the three best things for a patio thrill in mind: game nights, girl’s night out and after work drinks.
A few of the newest creations include a fresh Rosemary Gimlet martini, a Pineapple Splash garnished with brown sugar grilled pineapple, the New York Sour, a beautiful twist on an old classic and a Drunken Cherry, crafted with our house-made drunken Bing cherries.
Additional to these new cocktail additions are cocktail hour which runs Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., the menu can be viewed here. The cocktail house menu includes $4 beers, $5 cocktails, with additions to keg size – which means an extra shot for an additional $3! Food wise, there’s the delicious mushroom neptune and baked garlic shrimp for $7 each and keg sliders or calamari for $8.
Rosemary Gimlet, Hendrink’s gin, limoncello, lemon juice and fresh rosemary
New York Sour, Lot No. 40 whisky, fresh lemon and lime juice, simple syrup finished with red wine float
Pineapple Splash, Absolut vodka, aperol, fresh lemon and lime juice with muddled strawberries and soda
Trying out the new cocktail additions from the Keg is always exciting! It’s wonderful to see such passion and fun put into the ingredients. Out of the list, my favourite cocktail beverage of the night was the pineapple splash, the mixture of freshly squeezed lemon and lime juice with a sweet tang of muddled strawberries and aperol made it the perfect summertime drink to enjoy.
The Keg holds such a warming atmosphere and I always feel right at home. And of course, the food is always a thrill at The Keg. The surf and turf was for me, of an 8oz blackened sirloin coated with herbs & spices with a finish of herb butter… then topped with a juicy atlantic lobster tail, as if the first wasn’t already salivating enough! For sides, the double baked potato and deep-fried onions are both wonderful MUST-HAVE additions.
Be sure to check out the new summer cocktails before the warm weather goes away!
