There are countless Thai & Laos restaurants in the Fairfield area, so you’re only expected to be good.
Thainamic is located closer to Canley Vale station – which I think the closest competition is Sitney (across the street). I was already hesitant to walk into this restaurant. I have quite a few favourites at certain places when it comes to Thai and Laos food so I already have a set par.
On a Wednesday afternoon, we were the only ones there for lunch. The place was wonderfully decorated, the red frosted tea lights at each table was a perfect touch.
We ordered a few dishes, average priced, each $10-15.
 1. Ox Tongue
The ox tongue was a tad tough.
2. Laos Sausage
This was too sour and in way too small proportions for my liking.
3. Peanut Satay Chicken Skewers
I just don’t like peanut based dishes at all. But my mate loved these.
And the sticky rice… C’mon! It can’t be that hard to keep your rice fresh. It was way too stuck together and didn’t go well with the rest of the dishes at all. Disappointing. I’ll trust my instincts next time.
